I spent my summer building an unbloated backup orchestrator for Linux servers (wrapping Restic)
Project Details
I wanted to share something I built over the summer to solve a personal pain point with my backup setup. Like a lot of developers, I used to rely on basic scripts running in crontab every night. It technically worked, but it came with some major downsides: No simple way to know if a backup actually succeeded or failed Error handling was messy and manual Tracking metrics meant building custom monitoring from scratch Everything was tied to SSH, meaning other team members couldn't check status
